The report released today by the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Ms. Agnes Callamard, into the killing of journalist Mr. Cemal Kaşıkçı confirms the findings of the investigation that has been meticulously carried out by our relevant authorities.

In this context, the mentioned report reveals that the murder of Mr. Kaşıkçı was premeditated, violating the basic principles of international law and international relations, in particular international human rights law, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and UN principles.

We strongly support UN Special Rapporteur Ms. Callamard’s recommendations that are aimed at fully elucidating the killing of Mr. Kaşıkçı and holding all those responsible accountable. We also invite all UN Member States and relevant international organizations to insist on implementing these recommendations.
