The approval by Israel to build nearly 2000 additional housing units in the illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, is the latest example of its unlawful and reckless approach.

Israel, which has developed the habit of ignoring the sensitivity of international community on Palestine, incessantly continues to hijack the rights of the Palestinian people with its illegal practices. With cheap internal political considerations, it adds new crimes to the ones already committed in Palestine every passing day.

It should be ensured that Israel’s policy of expanding the illegal settlements, which constitute the biggest obstacle to the perspective of a two-state solution, be halted without delay.
